The Story of RINGO
RINGO didn’t start as a website. It started the way the best games do — with Dad, a board, two dice, and a pile of colored rings.
He drew up a 5×5 grid, lettered the columns R‑I‑N‑G‑O, numbered the rows 1–5, and put a wild star on each die. The rules fit in a few sentences, but the games never went quietly: rings get stolen, corners get claimed, and the first one to five in a row — or all four corners — gets to shout “RINGO!” at the whole table.
It’s been a family favorite ever since — the kind of game that comes out after dinner and doesn’t get put away after just one round.
This site brings Dad’s game online so the whole family can play it from anywhere — same board, same dice, same shout. Every game played here is another chapter.

How to Play RINGO
- The board is a 5×5 grid. Columns are lettered R-I-N-G-O, rows are numbered 1-5.
- On your turn, roll both dice: one shows a letter (R, I, N, G, O), the other a number (1–5). Each die also has one ★ wild face.
- Place a ring of your color on the space where the letter column and number row meet.
- A wild lets you choose that coordinate yourself — and it can replace an opponent's ring on any space it reaches. Two wilds? Anywhere on the board.
- If your rolled space holds an opponent's ring, choose: steal the spot or roll again. Your own ring? Just roll again — you never lose your turn.
- There are two ways to win: line up five rings of your color in a row — across, down, or diagonally — or claim all four corners of the board. Either way, shout “RINGO!”
